2025 Special Olympics DanceSport WA State Games

The Special Olympics DanceSport WA State Games will take place on Sunday, 28 September 2025, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Victoria Park Leisure Centre, located at the intersection of Kent Street and Gloucester Street, East Victoria Park.

The Special Olympics WA State Games is a qualifying event for the Special Olympics Australia National Games. DanceSport has been selected as a demonstration sport for the National Games. Information on the selection process for the National Games is still to be released; however, it is likely to require participation in the State Games competition and registration as a 2025 Special Olympics member (before the State Games).”

The Special Olympics WA State Games is a qualifying event for the Special Olympics Australia National Games. The SOA National Games are scheduled to take place in Melbourne in October 2026. To be eligible to qualify for the National Games, athletes must meet the following:
• Registered as a 2025 Special Olympics member (before the State Games)
• Be able to demonstrate that they have attended regular training and qualifying events before the State Games.

If an athlete does not meet the eligibility criteria for the National Games, they can still compete at the SOWA 2025 State Games. It just means they won’t be eligible to be selected for the National Games.
