Special Olympics WA –2025 State Games – Ten Pin Bowling Competition - Singles and Teams of 4
What:
2025 State Games, Ten-pin bowling competition - Singles and Teams of 4.
Special Olympics is a global movement that provides year-round sports programs for people with intellectual disabilities.
We promote inclusion, celebrate everyone’s abilities, and create opportunities for athletes to have fun, build confidence, and make lifelong friends through sport.
Who:
This competition is for people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism who have been participating in regular ten-pin bowling training (either with Special Olympics, or through another program).
National Games Qualifying event:
Special Olympics WA State Games is a qualifying event for the Special Olympics Australia National Games that is scheduled to take place in Melbourne in October 2026.
To be eligible to qualify for National Games athletes must meet the following:
Registered as 2025 Special Olympics member (prior to the State Games)
Be over 16 years of age on the first day of 2026 National Games
Be able to demonstrate that they have attended regular training and qualifying events prior to the State Games
If an athlete does not meet the eligibility criteria for National Games, they can still compete at the SOWA 2025 State Games. It just means they won’t be eligible to be selected for State Team Selection to attend the National Games.

How much:
$25 + Booking Fee (SOA registered members)
$30 + Booking Fee (non-registered members).
Competition rules
Events - Athletes must compete in the singles competition. Athletes have the choice of competing in the team competition. All events will be governed by the Sports-Essentials-Bowling-Rules-2024.pdf
Dress code - Athletes need to meet the TBA dress code:
- Collared shirt
- black bottoms such as long pants, shorts, skirt or skort.
- Enclosed Shoes to protect your feet
- No track pants, board shorts, short shorts, leggings, t-shirts, tank tops or caps.Equipment - Athletes can bring their own equipment or use equipment available at the centre.
- A water bottle and positive attitude is a must.
Competition schedule (*draft only)
9am - Doors Open / Check in.
9:15am - 9:30am - Warm Up / Practice
9:30am - Start of Play
- Singles competition followed by Teams Competition
- Teams competition (*optional)
2:00-2:30pm - Presentations / Event Concludes.

How to register:
To compete in the competition, athletes must register online via this page by 5pm, Sunday June 22nd, 2025. Athletes register as an individual player. For the team competition, teams will be determined by the event organisers.
