Come down to Yass Valley Library for a very special Saturday Storytime!
Local author Rhiân Williams will read One Little Dung Beetle, then she will discuss the inspiration of the book - her love of beetles!
Following the story, there will be a design-your-own beetle craft to enjoy.
And while you're at the library, check out the insect display and further information about Bugs in My Backyard Week at the Citizen Science Corner.

Rhiân Williams is a Yass Valley picture book author and passionate advocate for books, reading and children’s literature. In 2026, her book Emergency! Emergency! Vehicles to the Rescue was selected by Guardian Australia readers as one of the nation’s Top 50 Children’s Picture Books. Her most recent book, One Little Dung Beetle, was a Children’s Book Council of Australia 2025 Honour Book.
Rhiân co-hosts Book Corner every Friday on ABC Canberra Afternoons with Alice Matthews and, together, they host a monthly Book Club with the National Film and Sound Archive. In 2026, she was inaugural Guest Creative Director of the Kids & YA Program at the Canberra Writers Festival. Rhiân loves dogs, beetles and anything that sparks her curiosity - she is currently hard at work on book all about a little black and white cat who loves to travel!
