Event description

***UPDATE***

Unfortunately, this event has been postponed due to illness. We are hoping to reschedule soon, if this is possible, and will be in touch.  Thanks in advance for your understanding.

---------------------------------------------------

With the Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF) just across the pond this year, this presents an exciting and opportune moment for the Aotearoa New Zealand social sector as we start to reconnect and rebuild our communities after a challenging couple of years.

Together with the SEWF team and the 2022 local co-host White Box Enterprises, Ākina is hosting a series of events to discuss how we can leverage the forum and share best practices in areas such as social procurement and ecosystem development.

These events will give us a unique opportunity to have input into the 2022 SEWF program. To ensure we’re covering what matters most to our community, we want to hear from you.

-----------------

What you can expect:

Update from Ākina

  • The government’s response to the Impact Initiative recommendations

Insights into Australian social sector

  • Different approaches to the implementation of social procurement in government – Mark Daniels, White Box Enterprises
  • Australia’s first nationwide social enterprise strategy - Alex Hannant, Griffith University Yunus Centre
  • Indigenous Business and empowering Indigenous social enterprise, Tiarne Shutt, First Australians Capital

NZ and the Social Enterprise World Forum 2022

  • SEWF ’22 Update - Helene Malandain, SEWF and Dominiqe Bird, White Box Enterprises
  • Facilitated open forum on objectives and desired outcomes for NZ

Events will be held face-to-face with light refreshments provided. In addition to adding value to the SEWF program, it’s also an opportunity for us to reconnect. We hope you can join us.
