Run it, jog it, walk it, dance it! We're inviting our communities to come together for Run for a Reason on Sunday 8 November 🩵 Speed Freaks and our supporters are working to challenge the stigma surrounding addiction while creating space for courageous conversations about mental health, recovery, and community wellbeing. Run for a Reason continues this kaupapa by inviting our communities to move alongside us as we celebrate those making brave changes in their lives, support those still struggling, and honour the memory of loved ones who have died through addiction or by suicide. Join us virtually from your local community, either individually or as a group, and set your own goal for the 90-minute period. Whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual jogger, or prefer a walk and a chat, you're warmly invited to take part in a way that feels right for you. We recommend choosing a route that avoids crossing roads wherever possible, such as a local track or park. Please also be mindful of other members of the public enjoying the same space. We'll email you your event bib, which you're invited to personalise with the name of a loved one instead of your own, recognising their journey and making their story part of the day. In true Speed Freaks style, bring your dress-ups, music, and energy to share the #speedfreaksmagic Every dollar raised will support the ongoing mahi of Speed Freaks, including helping participants take part in local and national events and providing our iconic Speed Freaks t-shirts, earned through commitment to weekly running and walking. Whether you're running for yourself, a loved one, or simply to show your support, we'd love to have you join us!
