Speed Friending in the Apocolypse
Event description
The end is coming. Hold my hand.
Are you tired of doom-scrolling? Feeling overwhelmed by the state of the world? Feeling #posthope? Lets get anti-social IRL and connect like it’s before the internet.
Come along to Medusa Bar, Geelong, and meet your fellow artists and creatives in this social speed friending event. Your host Serah Nathan will greet and guide you through a profile-writing game to find your subspecies tropes and make the introductions you didn’t know you needed. No pair? No despair. Lean in. We are all in this together.
Leave your fatalist cat lady on the couch and be prepared to share yourself through a personalised playlist, your bedside table book stack, or just share your most recent search history—if you’re game. Speed friending in the Apocalypse is free to attend, but registration is required. Drinks and snacks at bar prices at Medusa Bar.
What have you got to lose?
Rated as the best ephemeral experience of certainty for 2025.
Platform Arts (Djilang/Geelong) is supported by the City of Greater Geelong, Creative Australia, and the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria.
