🐝 Spelling Bee Competition – How It Works

Designed for young learners who love words, language, and a good challenge, our Spelling Bee Competition combines structured learning with confidence-building stage experience.

This competition is conducted in two carefully designed rounds, ensuring fairness, encouragement, and a positive experience for all participants.

✏️ Round 1: Spell and Write!

Written Spelling Challenge

Participants will be given a list of 50 age-appropriate words and asked to spell them on paper within 30 minutes.

This round focuses on:

• spelling accuracy

• vocabulary recognition

• focus and independent thinking

📌 All children are encouraged to do their best in a calm, supportive environment.

🎤 Round 2: Spell it Right!

On-Stage Spelling Finale (Top 10)

The Top 10 highest-scoring participants from Round 1 will advance to the final stage.

In this round:

• participants take turns spelling words verbally on stage

• words are given by a moderator

• children spell in front of a live audience

This stage is designed to:

• build confidence speaking in public

• practice calm thinking under pressure

• celebrate courage, not just correctness

✨ Every finalist is recognized for their achievement.

🏆 Competition Prizes (5 Award Categories)

To recognize effort, achievement, and excellence, prizes will be awarded across five categories:

• 🥇 1st Place

  Gift valued at $500

  (5 × $100 Participant School Scholarship) + Trophy

• 🥈 2nd Place

  Gift valued at $300

  (3 × $100 Participant School Scholarship) + Trophy

• 🥉 3rd Place

  Gift valued at $200

  (2 × $100 Participant School Scholarship) + Trophy

• 🏅 4th Place × 2 Winners

  Gift valued at $100

  (1 × $100 Participant School Scholarship) + Trophy

⚖️ Fair Play & Competition Rules

To ensure a fair, safe, and positive experience for every child, all participants are required to follow the rules below.

🧠 Fair Play

• No talking or copying during the competition

• Any form of cheating may result in immediate disqualification

• The organizers’ decisions are final

🚫 Parent Access to Competition Room

Once the competition has started:

• Parents and guardians are NOT permitted to enter the competition room

• The competition is conducted in a designated, supervised room with official invigilators

This ensures a fair and distraction-free environment for all participants.

📝 Independent Participation Consent

By enrolling in the competition, parents and guardians give consent for their child to:

• Remain independently in the designated competition room

• Complete the competition without parental assistance

This consent applies for the full 60-minute duration of the competition.

⚠️ Disqualification Policy

To ensure fairness for all participants:

• If a parent or guardian enters the competition room during the competition, the student will be disqualified

• This rule applies regardless of the reason for entry

The organizers’ decisions regarding disqualification are final.

👧👦 Child Supervision & Safety

During the competition:

• Students will be checked in by staff

• Students will be supervised at all times by trained invigilators

• Parents may wait in designated waiting areas outside the competition room

This competition is part of Kids Enrichment Expo 2026, a weekend dedicated to early education, enrichment activities, and learning experiences.

👉 Expo entry is free.

👉 Participation in the Spelling Bee Competition requires a separate ticket.

Families are welcome to explore the expo before or after the competition.
