What to expect

Want to learn how to share your experiences as a form of advocacy? Maybe your into public speaking, writing, art or creating videos! 

Do you love sharing your story as a way to educate, relate to others or make change? 

You'll walk away from this interactive training with the confidence and skills you need to tell your story in a safe and accessible way. 

Through the careful and practiced guidance of our experienced Young Peer Facilitators you will leave knowing how to identify your boundaries around sharing, places you can get support and what makes a good story.

    • What is YERP?
    • Why sharing your story is a form of advocacy
    • How to identify if you’re in a good headspace for sharing
    • Your motivation for sharing
    • Support while sharing

Who should attend

This event is open to young people aged 12 - 25 and those in the youth sector who share their story as part of their role.

YACVic are committed to access and inclusion. Throughout the training we have a ten-minute break, enable Zoom's automatic captioning and provide image descriptions of visuals used. If you require extra support to attend the session, we can book in live captioning and/or Auslan interpreters. 
 

Refund Policy

All refund requests must be made in writing by contacting the organiser up to 24 hours before the start day of the event. No refunds will be granted after that. A full refund will be made up to 10 days of the request being submitted. Please contact Finnley Stirling at FStirling@yacvic.org.au.
