Back Pain: Anatomy, Common Pathologies and Management strategies

This workshop will offer a review of the Anatomy and Biomechanics of the spine with consideration also given to the shoulder and pelvic girdles. Our time together will provide insight into some common pathologies and presenting complaints that therapists and bodyworkers may see in clinical practice. We will explore and review a variety of management strategies with a focus on treatment approaches from an Osteopathic, Ayurvedic, TCM and Zen Thai Shiatsu perspective.  An introduction to Osteopathic theory and philosophy and relevant insights from Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems will hopefully enhance and inspire your understanding and build your confidence in your own bodywork practice.  Simple orthopaedic tests and screening procedures along with useful exercise prescription for optimal patient management will maximise your role as a wholistic therapist and support you to decide if and when it might be necessary to refer your patient for further investigation or treatment with a Dr or Specialist should this be required.
