A hearty kirtan followed by a vibrant Ecstatic Dance.

Musicians Michael O'Shaughnessy and friends lead us in devotional singing and chanting. Kirtan is a call and response style chanting which invites your voice to harmonise with the group uplifting the spirit as it becomes one voice of the community. The evening will then transition into ecstatic dance as Theva takes the lead and gets you moving in devotional dancing to raise our energetic vibration.

Opening the throat chakra creates space within us, soothes the vagus nerve and tunes us to each other. This alignment naturally draws us to share the dance floor in truth and integrity, dancing like no one is watching and freeing the inner dancer.

Sing and dance to express and enjoy every cell in your body, release, expand, nurture and flow to divine melodies and rhythmic beats. Connection, community and heart centred dancing with love and kindness at the helm. Singing & dancing pleasure will be our intent, inclusivity and shared humanity will be the outcome.

The Dancing Dhevas community is a group dedicated to dancing with passion and authenticity, there is no talking and yet so much is said in the dance, come as you are or bring a friend, we share a dance floor of like minded souls who move as one and celebrate life in all its complexities by being in the moment.

Bring drinking water and a cushion for when we sing, turn your phones off and drop the chatter.

We dance bare foot as our floor is our temple.

Doors Open 6:30 and DOORS SHUT at 7:00 no entry after then.

We chant until 8pm and dance until 9:30, leaving time to share some food and socialising.

Come early, warm up and settle into the space.

Tickets $35 + $1.19 Booking fee

Includes donation to musicians, cake, chai and fruit.

$1-100 Pay it forward Add a little donation to help those unable to afford a ticket make it to dance for their emotional and mental well being. Dancing Dhevas will match your donation.

Cancellation & Event Guidelines

Refunds or ticket transfers to another event can be requested up to 24 hours before the event. After this time, tickets may be transferred to a friend by the ticket holder.

This is an alcohol-free, drug-free, and smoke-free event. Management reserves the right to refuse entry to ensure the safety and integrity of the space.

We invite full presence on the dance floor — no devices(smart watches too), no photography or Shazam. Please arrive ready to be presen, just as others are.

This is a barefoot, non-verbal dance space. No shoes and no talking on the dance floor. We gather because we love to dance, to listen, and to move together.

This event is not suitable for kids, (18+)

First Time at Dancing Dhevas?

Dancing Dhevas is a free-form conscious dance practice that invites you to move as only you can — with authenticity, curiosity, and freedom. It’s an opportunity to let go of judgement and discover a dance that is uniquely yours, one that can’t be copied or performed.

Conscious dance is an active meditation. As each person drops into their own movement, the room shifts — energy builds, barriers soften, and natural ecstasy emerges. There’s no right or wrong way to dance, only presence.

Theva began Dancing Dhevas in 2010 when there was a dire need for self expression and release on the dance floor. It has become a sanctuary for many, a place for solitude yet full of connection, and a place where we can return to the self.

Come as you are, or bring a friend. We share the floor with like-minded souls, moving together and celebrating life in all its complexity, moment by moment.

What to know:

Bring a water bottle
We dance barefoot to ground and connect with the body on a clean floor.
No talking on the dance floor — if you need to speak, please step outside the hall.
