Event description

Welcome to our Flow community!

We will be getting together in Naarm once a month on a Saturday night to enjoy live music, wisdom talks, guided meditations, group discussions, supper and mingling.

Our December topic will be "Spirituality and World Citizenship". As we deepen in our psychological integration and our spiritual development, we come to experience our interconnectedness with the entire web of life of planet earth more and more deeply. Zooming out, our human developmental arc involves moving from an egocentric orientation towards reality, in which we care only about ourselves, to an ethnocentric orientation in which we care only about ourselves AND other people in our group, to - eventually - a worldcentric orientation in which we really care about all of our human and non-human family on this beautiful planet. Now, as our planet is embroiled in this "polycrisis", it has never been more important for us to develop into a worldcentric orientation toward our shared earth.

So how precisely can our spirituality contribute to the way we show up as citizens? And how can our actions as citizens contribute to our spiritual development?

We will hear a talk on this subject between Scott Leckie - leading international human rights lawyer and author - and Nigel Denning - a meditation teacher, psychologist and director of Integrative Psychology and Medicine. This conversation will be moderated by Siddharth Vadasseri, a lawyer and facilitator based in Naarm. We will also listen to beautiful live music from the talented Dan Cully!

Once we cover costs, all remaining funds will go to the Bon Mustang Australia Charity.

We hope to see you there!

Note - please arrive promptly, as the event will begin at 7pm sharp and doors will close at 7.20pm.
