Spoken Mic is a spoken word event at The Nook, presented by Nick Grivas of Liquid Lyrics.
The night will feature eight poets and performers, each delivering a 10-minute set of poetry, spoken word, and storytelling. Every performer brings their own voice and perspective, creating an evening shaped by words, rhythm, and lived experience.
Held in The Nook’s intimate 40-person room, Spoken Mic is designed for listening, a focused, respectful space where performers and audience share the moment together.
This is not an open mic, and there is no pressure for guests to perform, simply come along, take a seat, and enjoy the evening immersed in spoken word and story.

FAQs
- Will tickets be available at the door?
These events have historically sold out before the event date. Tickets are limited to a small intimate crowd. Its highly unlikely unless we have cancelations last minute.
- BYO alcohol ?
Yes! We are not licensed to sell alcohol. So you are welcome to BYO
- BYO food?
No, the space is too small to accommodate BYO food. We have small bar snacks available for purchase, and we recommend eating beforehand. There’s a great Indian restaurant just downstairs, Tandoori Flames.
- Parking
Public parking is available in the Pearl Lane car park, a short walk from The Nook. We ask that patrons avoid using the Cooroy Village Shopping Centre car park so there’s enough space for the restaurants downstairs.
