Spooky Reads Meet Up & Book Swap

Join us at any of our four locations on Saturday, October 17th for a spooky book swap and reader meet-up! This event is perfect for fans of thrillers, mysteries, and/or horror who are looking to meet new friends and trade in some of their collection for a few new spooky reads.

How to Participate:

• Books:

  • Please bring 2-4 books from your book collection that fall within the thriller, mystery, or horror genre.

  • Please make sure that your books are in reasonably good condition and have been published within the last 15(ish) years.

  • Schuler Books staff reserves the right to reject books that do not fit the outlined criteria.

• Check-In:

  • Attendees can check in at any point between 6:00pm and 6:20pm.

  • For the best experience, we ask that participants arrive and check in as close to this timeframe as possible.

  • Our book sellers will make sure that every book fits the book swap criteria, and each attendee will receive one ticket per book accepted. (Note: the minimum to participate is two, and the maximum is four).

  • To give our staff time to organize the book tables, the book swap will begin at 6:30pm. Attendees are welcome to wander the store or participate in the self-guided activity we’ll provide while they wait.

• Book Swap:

  • The book swap will take place between 6:30pm and 7:30pm. Attendees are welcome to wander at their own pace.

  • Before leaving, attendees will “check out” with one of our book sellers running the event (not at our registers). To check out, attendees will show the books that they have selected, and will trade in their tickets (one ticket = one book).
