FAQs

• Can I wear a costume?

  Yes! Costumes are encouraged and we will even have a prize for best dressed!

• How spooky is spooky? Will this be suitable for younger children?

  Absolutely! While children are encouraged to dress up, the event will be Halloween-inspired rather than scary. We won't feature gory, frightening or motion-activated decorations.

• Who can attend?

  Everyone is welcome! This is a family-friendly event, however all children must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult, parent or guardian at all times. All supervising adults must have a ticket.

• Do I have to skate?

  No! You can purchase a non-skater ticket and enjoy the music, dance floor, games and festivities without skating.

• Can non-skaters attend with my family?

  Yes. Multiple non-skater tickets can be purchased when a skating ticket is purchased in the same transaction.

• Do I need to bring my own skates?

  You can bring your own roller skates or use a pair of ours. We offer complimentary hire for our limited fleet.

• What if I decide I want to skate on the night?

  If hire skates are still available, non-skaters can upgrade their ticket and hire skates can be arranged.

• Do I need protective equipment?

  We have a range of protective gear for children however to avoid missing out, you can also choose to bring your own.

• Can I bring food or drinks onto the skating floor?

  No. Food and drinks must remain in the designated food area.

• Can I carry my child while skating?

  No. Children cannot be carried while skating.

• Can I wear socks or go barefoot?

  No. Skates must be worn on the skating floor, and bare feet or socks are not permitted on either the skating or dance floor.

• Can I enter the skating area without skates?

  The only person permitted onto the skating floor without skates is a parent or guardian assisting a young child.

• Are there skating rules?

  Yes. For everyone's safety:

  • Skate in one direction.

  • No reckless or dangerous behaviour.

  • Follow instructions from The Skate Social team.

  • Give other skaters plenty of space.

• Can I skate if I've been drinking alcohol?

  No. Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted onto the skating floor.

• Is alcohol allowed?

  No. This is an alcohol-free event. Alcohol and drugs are not permitted on the premises. Anyone found with alcohol or drugs, or considered to be under the influence, will be asked to leave.

• Is there somewhere to dance if I don't want to skate?

  Yes! We'll have a dedicated dance area where non-skaters can dance or skaters can take a break from the rink.

• Will food be available?

  Yes, food will be available for purchase on the night.

• Will drinks be available?

  Yes, drinks will be available for purchase on the night.
