Join Merri-bek City Council and Sport4All on Autism Awareness month to learn more about people with autism and how sport can be of benefit. Learn practical ways to increase your sporting clubs inclusivity and break down barriers for people with autism.
Sport4All is free education program that aims to empower local sport clubs and Schools to further include people with disability across many roles. The Sport4All program includes short and engaging online modules. What makes Sport4All is the action plan. The action plan is co-designed by the club/school and the Sport4All Inclusion coach to set and achieve practical goals.
1 in 5 people in Australia have a disability. 90% of disabilities are not visible. Over 13,000 people in the area are on on the NDIS, with autism being the most common disability on the scheme.
The session will include
- Introduction to Sport4All Program: Learn about the purpose and benefits of the Sport4All initiative.
- Sport4All Learning Module: Gain insights into the practical applications of the program through an engaging learning module.
- Inclusion Coach with Lived Experience: Hear from an inclusion coach who shares valuable real-world experiences and strategies for inclusion.
- Inclusion Strategies: Discover practical ways to incorporate individuals with autism/Neurodivergence into your club or school activities.
- Hands-On Activities: Participate in interactive activities that reinforce the key takeaways from the session. Work with peers to help develop actions that can be used at your club/school.
- Networking Opportunity: Connect with others passionate about creating inclusive environments in sports.
