Items to Bring: A massage table, oils and towels.

Sports injuries are damage that occurs during sports, athletic activities, or exercise. Sports massage aims to improve performance, aid recovery, and enhance overall range of motion and flexibility.
In this hands-on workshop, we will cover some of the important bony landmarks, origin, insertion, and actions of the common muscles in sports massage.

Day 1: Muscles of the lower body in sports
✔ Bony landmarks of the lower body.
✔ Muscle origins and insertions of the lower body
✔ Common lower body injuries in Sports;
✔ Sports massage techniques.

Day 2: Muscles of the upper body in sports
✔ Bony landmarks of the upper body.
✔ Muscle origins and insertions of the upper body.
✔ Common upper body injuries in Sports;
✔ Sports massage techniques.




Presenter: Rafael Bucater

 Specialist in musculoskeletal massage therapy, deep tissue and remedial massage, and postural and biomechanical assessment. Rafael has a bachelor’s degree in physical education, a post-graduate degree in exercise physiology overseas, and a diploma in fitness, sports, and remedial massage, in Australia. 

Rafael is currently lecturing at the Australian Institute of Fitness, Adelaide campus in fitness and massage courses and has done so for the last 9 years.

Rafael Bucater has presented at the 2019 South Australian Sports Medicine FAST conference to sports trainers on sports massage techniques and self-care techniques. Rafael Bucater has toured with the Young Socceroos as a massage therapist.
