Join our experienced Educators for a fascinating and surprising 1.5-hour spotlight walk. See how Centennial Park transforms when the sun sets and spot animals at dusk.

The Park is home to a variety of nocturnal creatures, from brushtail possums, microbats and tawny frogmouths, to one of Sydney’s largest colonies of grey-headed flying-foxes.

This program is suitable for families with children aged from 5 years. All children must be supervised by an adult.

Things to know before you attend

Please come prepared, as this program will go ahead in all-weather unless it is unsafe to do so (for example, during high winds or thunderstorms). Children must wear enclosed shoes.

Spotlight Prowls are not suitable for large groups or birthday parties (a maximum of 10 tickets per person is permitted). Please contact education@gsp.nsw.gov.au to make a private booking.

We reserve the right to cancel the event in case of dangerous weather or if minimum participation numbers are not met. In these circumstances a refund will be offered. Please refer to our full terms and conditions for more information.

What to bring to the event

Ensure you are prepared for this session by bringing:

Enclosed and comfortable shoes
Warm clothing – it gets cold after dark!

A torch
Camera (no flash)
Waterproof clothing in case of wet conditions, as sessions run rain or shine
A sense of adventure

Your responsibilities if you feel unwell

I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure that all attendees associated with this booking do not attend if:

We/I have had a fever, diarrhoea or vomiting within 12 hours or at the time of the program
We/I have been asked to self-isolate
We/I have had a positive COVID-19 test result and continue to have symptoms.
