Spotting the Signs of Child Exploitation in Hospitality Settings
Event description
Bristol Crime Reduction Partnership on behalf of Bristol BID in partnership with Avon and Somerset Police Bristol BID, is hosting a dedicated online training session for businesses in the hospitality and accommodation sector.
This important session will be led by Androulla Nicolaou, from the Child Sexual Exploitation Team at Avon & Somerset Police, who will share key insights, research findings, and real life case studies to help hotel and hospitality professionals better understand and identify the signs of child exploitation.
Evidence shows that hotels and other accommodation venues are sometimes used as meeting places for the grooming and abuse of children. Those working in hospitality, including receptionists, managers, security, and housekeeping staff are uniquely placed to notice when something doesn’t seem right. Recognising these signs and knowing how to respond appropriately can be vital in protecting vulnerable young people from harm.
This session will:
Highlight the realities of child exploitation and how it can occur in hospitality settings.
Equip you with practical knowledge on how to spot the signs and take appropriate action.
Clarify your responsibilities and the correct steps to report concerns.
Empower your team to play a proactive role in safeguarding children and preventing exploitation.
Join us for this essential online session to ensure your business and team are prepared to respond responsibly and confidently.
