Wednesday 25/9 -  6.30-8 pm

Public Talk: Introduction to the Buddhist Path

An introductory program for persons new and interested in Buddhism, covering the role and value of the path of enlightenment and the specifics of Buddhist theory and practice. By donation.

Friday 11/10 - 6.30-8 pm

Public Talk: Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism

The great Mahayana vehicle of enlightenment is founded on a critique of our confused beliefs and projections, and introducing an openness and wisdom that is our natural wakefulness. This experience opens up a selfless engagement with the world and introduces us to reality’s innate perfection, which is the scope of the Vajrayana vehicle.

Sunday 13/10 – 10 am-5 pm

Primordial Innocence: The Rain of Blessings Tsok Practice

A celebration of Guru Padmasambhava, commemorating the message of his life and teaching. This will be followed with the feast practice of Jamgön Mipham’s Rain of Blessings.

Friday 18/10 - 6.30-8 pm

Wisdom: Touching the Heart of Reality 

The Buddha’s teachings on wisdom can be approached and understood through our personal observations, experience, and reasoning, as well as an appreciation of the natural qualities of wisdom - truth, creativity, and selfless warmth.

Saturday and Sunday 19-20/10 – Weekend course 10 am - 4 pm on both days

The Essence of Nectar (Lamrim Dütsi Nyingpo) with Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche’s commentary

A quintessential instruction and overview of the path of awakening. Written by the great sage of sages, Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, with a commentary by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. The course will offer discussions on how these instructions are integrated through the practice of meditation and in everyday life.

Monday 21/10: Two Programs: 10 am-4 pm 

Happiness and Suffering on the Path of Awakening 

The great sage Dodrup Tenpey Nyima wrote a wonderfully clear and provocative work on extracting ourselves from the cycle of delusion that drives our suffering. This essential practice of mind training enables us to integrate all our ups and downs on the path to awakening.

Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche’s Anniversary

We will commemorate Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche’s life and teaching and practise his Essence of Blessings guru yoga.

Tuesday 22- Sunday 27/10 

Shamatha-Vipashyana Meditation Retreat

Five days of meditation practice. The retreat practice will consist of sitting meditation, combining shamatha and vipashyana as taught in the Tibetan Nyingma and Kagyu traditions.

Monday 11/11 – 5.30-7.30 pm

The Spirit of Vajrayana & Guru Rinpoche Tsok

A classic pith instruction on sadhana with commentary by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, followed by feast practice.

All events will be available in person or online. Those choosing to attend online can receive the zoom link after purchasing tickets.

Morning/afternoon tea will be provided on ‘seminar’ days. Please BYO lunch.

Jakob took refuge in 1974. In the 1970s, he travelled to India and Nepal, studying with his root teacher Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche as well as other great lamas, including Dudjom Rinpoche, Tulku Pema Wangyal Rinpoche, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche. Jakob completed a three-year retreat in 1984. Since 1993, he has primarily served and studied with Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche and has translated various sadhanas, works on philosophy, and practice instructions. Since 1998, he has worked as an instructor in Buddhist theory and practice for Siddhartha’s Intent, also completing a BA in Tibetology at the University of Copenhagen. In his Dharma presentations, Jakob seeks to ensure that practitioners thoroughly understand the various Buddhist teachings, enabling them to proceed with their practice without hesitation.
