Spring Equinox 2021 - ONLINE EVENT with Sue Andersen and Jo Rockendorfer
Online Event
Event description
SPRING EQUINOX 2021
"The dance reflects the need for movement from where we are to our next phase of being."
As the sacred wheel turns towards the returning sun, the stirrings of spring ignite in the quickening of the earth warming under foot, in the flurried nest building of the robin and the moody weather of wind and rain and sun.
And here we are facing more lockdown….. It seems there is still more work to do in the dark, personally and perhaps collectively and so the incubation of winter is lengthened. Yet every cell in our bodies attuned to the rhythms of nature, like a compass, points toward the explosion of full expression, resembling the urgency of the seed needing to sprout, pushing bravely through the soil. How then, do we hold the polarity of the prolonged winter dreaming with the emerging life force of spring?
“Choose Transformation, Create Cocoon, Allow Yourself to Dissolve into Deep Feelings, Wait, Crystallise, Reform, Grow Strength, Break Out of Former Limits, Fly Free. Repeat Daily.” Geoff Berry, outlining the rites of the Butterfly Artist Tricia Stirling
In the chrysalis of our winter, we dream, and in the dreaming we plant the seeds of transformation and personal evolution. The cocoon holds us as we map our new design, bringing consciousness to our primordial soup. Working the magic we rewire for true wellbeing. The longing for freedom and flight brings us to our medicine. .
Metamorphosis is the magic that insects can teach us! Dear ones we have to shed the old before we can come into the new and this may mean having to journey into the dark corners of ourselves. Transformation is not necessarily easy but if you have made the commitment to grow and evolve by booking this online event then there are a few things you can do to prepare;
Reflect on your journey this winter and notice the places where you have become stuck or in pain, where you may have been in fear or out of sorts with yourself. No need to do anything with it just let it rest in your awareness.
Bring with you an intention. It may relate to the above or not, remember transformation is all about healing.
Have with you on the day enough white flowers to make a circle around yourself either when you're lying down or sitting up.
Bring a selection of magazines, images, scissors, glue and card stock for the creative.
The event will be divided into two sessions, so that you will have time in the middle to do your creative piece. First couple of hours include check-in, dance and meditation. 40 min or so for the creative piece Last hour to share our work and close.
The aim of this event is not only to bring about healing and transformation through dance, meditation and the creative but also to give the opportunity to connect with each other to share our personal wisdom and understanding.
A little about Jo Rockendorfer:
Jo has training as an art therapist and transpersonal counsellor. She has facilitated group workshops for adults and children for over 20 years and utilises creative techniques to enhance the therapeutic relationship. Jo lives on the South Coast of NSW and has found the natural world to be her greatest friend and teacher and weaves the therapeutic encounter with earth-based practises.
A little about Sue Andersen: Sue has been practicing Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms since 2008 and completed her teacher training early in 2016. She is excited to share the 5rhythms Wave map, supporting people to return again and again to their bodies, to explore and express their unique dance and to discover the freedom and aliveness that comes when we surrender our minds to our feet, to the dance.
