As the Southern Hemisphere enters into spring, we are about to reach the auspicious moment of Spring Equinox - a profound time of stillness in which we can tune into the perfect balance between day and night, before the light starts to grow even more.
Being held in the week of the equinox, which takes place this Wednesday 23rd September, this ceremony is an invitation to connect to the energy of balance. Together we'll create a sacred space to prepare for the coming season in a conscious, intentional way. Supported by heart-awakening ceremonial cacao, we will enjoy an evening of inner reflection and intention-setting. It’s a chance to release what you’re ready to let go of and plant the seeds of what you're ready to grow into next.

- I've never been to a cacao ceremony before, can I come?
Yes, this event is for all who are interested, regardless of experience. Cacao ceremonies do not require any previous experience in meditation, breathwork or other practices. The only prerequisite is to be truly open to the experience and to come with a heartfelt wish for connection.
- How do I prepare for a cacao ceremony?
It is good to prepare yourself inwardly, even for a few days beforehand; to get into the right mindset and be ready for the inner journey that will unfold in the ceremony. On the morning of the ceremony it is best to avoid coffee to get more out of the experience and not to eat 2 hours before.
- What happens when I drink ceremonial cacao?
The effects of ceremonial cacao kick-in about 20-30 minutes after drinking it. The effects vary from person to person, but in general you can expect to feel a mild state of euphoria, a feeling of deepened connection to yourself and to others. It can amplify states of love, happiness and joy.
- Are there any health issues that are contraindicated for drinking ceremonial cacao?
If you have any pre-existing medical conditions related to the heart, high blood pressure or psychiatric disorders it is good to consult with a medical professional before drinking ceremonial-grade cacao. Also, if you are pregnant it is good to get medical advice before consuming cacao.
- What do I need to bring?
All you need to bring is yourself and a relaxed inner state of openness. We provide cacao, cups, yoga mats, cushions and blankets. If you have any special objects or a preferred meditation cushion you are welcome to bring them. You can bring a notebook to journal. No devices are allowed.
