Meet the Poets

Sandra Renew
SANDRA RENEW’S poetry explores dissent, protest and lesbian and gay rights. Sandra received the Canberra Critics Circle Award, ACT Writers Notable Poetry Award, ACT Writing and Publishing Poetry Award. She writes on Ngunnawal, Ngambri and Yuin land. Her latest book is She Goes to Town (Gazebo Books, 2024).

Kai Jensen
KAI JENSEN lives and writes on Djiringanj Yuin country, on the NSW far south coast. His poems have appeared in most leading Australasian literary journals, and in many North American journals. Kai’s first book of poems, The Zebra Path of Tree Light, was published by 5 Islands Press in 2025.

Linda Godfrey
LINDA GODFREY lives on Wadi Wadi land, in Wollongong. She is one of Australia’s finest practitioners of the short form prose poetry. In Tannic Skin & Sweet Flesh published by 5 Islands Press in 2026, she explores how ‘modern poetry is all about the small incidents from a day,’ relocating the small and quotidian from the margins to the centre.

Susie Fagan
