Description

Come and spend a beautiful spring morning with us at Callala Beach.

We’ll begin the day with gentle yoga, breathwork and somatic practices led by Carla from South Coast Soul, before gradually opening into voice, sound and song.

Carla offers a grounded, welcoming style of yoga that blends simple practices to help you slow down, settle your nervous system and reconnect with yourself. Her classes are inclusive, restorative and suitable for every body, creating a supportive space where you can breathe deeply, move with ease and simply arrive as you are.

For this special morning, the practice will also explore the connection between breath, body and voice. We’ll move through gentle chest, throat and heart-opening practices, conscious breathing, vocal toning and simple sound-making, releasing tension and warming up the breath and voice in a playful, pressure-free way.

From there, we’ll take a light refreshment break before flowing naturally into a joyful singing workshop with vocal artist and songwriter Shelly Brown - inspired by gospel, soul and songs from around the world.

With bodies warmed, breath flowing and voices already awakened, we’ll learn harmonies by ear, explore our voices together and experience the simple magic of singing in community.

There’s no need to think of yourself as a “singer”, and absolutely no experience is needed. The whole morning is designed as a gentle progression from movement, to breath, to sound, to song - simply bring yourself and a willingness to join in.

Whether you sing all the time or haven’t sung in years, you’ll be warmly welcomed.

Our hope is that you’ll head home feeling relaxed, uplifted and connected - with your body a little freer, your voice a little more open, and a few new songs still ringing in your ears.

Each ticket to the Workshop Put YOU in the draw for a Raffle! What?? I love raffles. Yeah, me too.

I really wanted to feature an artist on my poster, instead of the dreaded "Thou we shall not mention -a-hem A.I. -a-hem". SO, I reached out to one of my favourite artists - Katie Alleva. She creates these beautiful cyanotypes and I just adore their Spring, blue fresh deep colours. SO - each ticket to the workshop puts you into the raffle to win an artwork. And then I thought, I cant just have one prize can I? So I asked the Legend that is Adam at Resonator Music Ballina if he wanted to help me make another prize - so, there's some Music Shop goodies to be won as well. How awesome is that?!?!?! I shall draw the raffle when all the workshops are done done, so, on about November 22nd, 2026.

    Carla Versitano

I’m a yoga teacher, movement educator, and trauma-aware somatic practitioner with a lifelong passion for helping people reconnect with their bodies and build emotional resilience. For more than 20 years, I’ve developed and facilitated programs across wellness, arts and education sectors, working with private and public schools, Defence, corporate teams, community groups, and creative organisations. Delivering in both metropolitan and remote settings has given me a deep understanding of diverse human needs and the ability to adapt my work to different environments with sensitivity and skill. My area of expertise is therapeutic yoga and trauma aware somatic work. I support people to feel safer in their bodies, regulate their nervous systems and build sustainable emotional resilience. I blend evidence-based movement, breathwork with the philosophy and practice of yoga to help clients develop nervous system literacy and subtle body awareness. I also draw deeply on the energetic applications of these practices in order that the beneficial effects may be observed not only at a physical and psychological level, but at the level of felt sense, energy and internal coherence. My approach bridges modern science and traditional wisdom, making complex nervous system concepts practical, accessible, and immediately useful in real-world settings. Whether I’m working with individuals, classrooms, or professional teams, my focus is always the same: helping people recover, regulate, and reconnect with clarity and strength. Sessions with me are grounded, inclusive, and adaptable to all bodies and experience levels. I create spaces that are warm, engaging, and deeply supportive.

I'm returning to Bellingen, as I ran a workshop there last year and it was Awesome!
