Spring Studio #2: Ornamental Clay Plaques with Ebony Russell

Explore the decorative and ornate possibilities of clay with ceramic artist Ebony Russell in this 3-part workshop series.

Channelling her signature style; icing-inspired piping, intricate layering and ornate, sculpted flourishes, Russell will guide participants through ornamental object decoration.

In this session participants will create a personalised clay tile or plaque incorporating a name, word or short phrase, then build up the surface using stamps, moulded details, applied decoration and piped embellishments.

Working with air-drying clay, you'll shape a delicate ornamental piece, perfect for a Christmas gift or to keep for yourself.

This series is presented alongside the exhibition Girly in Manly at Manly Art Gallery & Museum Fri 25 Sept – Sun 29 Nov.

Join one or all 3 studio sessions at Avalon Creative Space. Sessions limited to 15 participants.

All materials provided; no previous ceramics or art experience required.
