Spring walk and talk along the Warriparri
Event description
Enjoy a relaxed evening walk along the Sturt River – Warriparri as spring brings the landscape to life. Take in the fresh air and observe the native grasses, butterflies and other wildlife.
As you walk, you’ll learn about the local plants and animals that call this area home and hear about the City of Marion’s ongoing work to protect and restore this important urban environment.
Key stops along the way:
Kenton Avenue Reserve – pause at the magnificent river red gum
Oliphant Avenue Reserve
Finnis Street – learn about the direct seeding in this area
This is a great opportunity to connect with nature and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of the Sturt River – Warriparri biodiversity corridor.
Walking information:
The walk will be flat, along the Sturt River Linear Trail. We will start at Kenton Avenue Reserve and walk to Finnis Street before retuning to Kenton Avenue Reserve to finish. The total walking distance is about 2km.
