Join us for a special Gecko Talk on the proposal of for a cableway to Springbrook.
Springbrook National Park is part of the ancient Gondwana Rainforests recognised for its global world wide significance, and a beautiful well-loved place for locals and visitors. It is a global biodiversity hotspot with an extremely high conservation value, providing habitat for more than 200 rare or threatened plant and animal species.
Come and learn more about the natural wonders of Springbrook and many values that are at risk at this Gecko Talk led by seasoned campaigner Lois Levy, Springbrook resident Ceris Ash and Gecko’s Campaign Coordinator Sara Hicks.
Speakers:
Lois Levy is one of the founders of Gecko Environment Council in 1989 and is a committed campaigner for the protection of conservation areas, national parks and other public open space, especially from commercial development. Lois was heavily engaged in the original successful fight to stop the cableway between 1998 -2000.
