Leisurely Labour Day long weekend fun!

Meet at Circular Quay BY 11:00am, Ferry LEAVES at 11:15am (tap on) on the Ferry F9 line, then Watsons Bay is a direct 23-minute ferry ride, from wharf 2.

Just $9 secures your place, and also gets you an included coffee at Watsons Bay.

BYO Picnic + Drinks

Bring anything you would like to eat and drink - and to share, and picnic blanket etc.

Watsons Bay

We will grab our included coffee/drink from Watsons Bay Hotel and enjoy the beachside atmosphere in Robertson Park.

After coffee we head up Old South Head Road to Australia's oldest lighthouse site at Macquarie Lighthouse (photo below) to find a nice spot for our picnic in Lighthouse Reserve.

Federation Lighthouse to Gap Bluff

After lunch we pick up a shortened Federation Walk.

We pass South Head Signal Station, then into Gap Park with Jacob's Ladder, the Gap Viewing Platform, the 'Wreck of the Dunbar' site, and then The Gap and National Park Gap Bluff.

From Gap Bluff, take in spectacular views of the city skyline, harbour and coastal cliffs. From the lookout you see Inner South Head, Hornby Light and the high cliffs of North Head.

The sea has carved out dramatic sandstone cliffs and are one of Sydney's most famous scenic destinations and dramatic natural features.

Gap Bluff back to Watsons Bay

The lower roadway then takes us to Cliff Street and onwards to Camp Cove Beach. Here we can walk along the beach to Green Point Reserve for a rest.

After that it is a short walk back to Watsons Bay for maybe some drinks, and then the ferry to Circular Quay.

The whole trip is an easy 5km walk and should take a couple of hours including our picnic, and stops for exploring and for photos etc.
