Event description
Supporting a loved one through labour is an art that requires confidence, information, direction and and insight. It's also, a big responsibility and undertaking. This is a unique workshop addressing birth partners directly, and helping you to navigate how to find that confidence.
We challenge the outdated notion of birth partners being irritating, or overwhelmed and inherently ill equipped to be in the birth space. Instead we will highlight your vital role providing emotional, physical, and practical support and give you the resources do
Through this workshop, you will gain a deeper understanding of the significance and impact of your presence, by learning how to effectively support your loved one, fostering a more positive and empowering experience.
You will also have the opportunity to meet other families on a similar journey, and it is our hope that you make great connections and continue to support each other.
This workshop best suits those who have experienced an antenatal class/education already, or for those who are not having their first baby.
This workshop is LGBTQ+ affirming and neurodivergent friendly. We recongise that supporting a loved one in labour does not depend on the expectation of a nuclear family, and we welcome attendance from IPs, grandparents, friends and other companions- if you intend to support someone in labour then this is the place for you to be!
This workshop is a virtual event and will be hosted ONLINE.
