Annual Fishing Weekend 1st - 3rd November 2024

Carp Fishing Competition - Bass Catch and Release

  • All proceeds to the St Albans Common Trust
  • Friday check-in from noon onwards
  • Carp Fishing Comp from Fri 3pm - Sunday noon
  • Fishing Workshop - FishCare Volunteers
  • Clubs and individuals welcome
  • Food and soft drinks available on-site
  • Free camping on-site
  • Cash only on-site, no card facilities 
  • Prizes for adults and children

NEW THIS YEAR - CAMP OVEN COOKING COMPETITION! (Saturday Night)

  • Food to be ready for judging at 6pm
  • Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
  • A maximum of 4 members per team. 
  • All Main Dishes must be cooked in a cast iron pot/pan/dish 
  • Teams can choose their site in the designated area. 
  • Each team must make 8-10 small servings (1/3 meal) available for sale on top of what they are cooking for themselves (Crockery and Eco cutlery supplied by organisers). Sale of dishes ($5) will go to the costs of event (prizes!)/Common Trust donation.
  • Camp Ovens can only be cooked over gas burners/contained fires. All safety regulations must be adhered to on the day. Firewood will be supplied on site for collection 
  • Each stand must have their own fire extinguisher on site. 
  • Participants must observe proper safety and hygiene practices when preparing and cooking food. A Food Safety Supervisor will be on site. 
  • All MAIN DISHES must be Cooked on Site on the day. 
  • Any additional ingredients that are being used and brought along on the day by a team may be prepared beforehand, e.g. dicing of veg and meat, spicing, side dishes like rice or bread etc. but these will not form part of the competition or be judged. 
  • You may cook more than one pot, but only one will be judged (per $30 entry fee).
  • Judging will be by the Customers on a Ticket & Token system. 
  • Teams must ensure that they clean up their stand area at the end of the event and dispose of their own rubbish.
