St Mark's Venture Award Program
Description
The Venture Award gives young people aged 10–14 the chance to explore new interests, take on personal challenges and choose activities that are fun, exciting and meaningful. Through the Award, you will have opportunities to help others, stay active, develop new skills and discover talents you may not even know you have.
The Award has four levels and each Level has different time requirements. As you move through the Award, your challenges should grow and stretch you a little further. When you complete each Level, you will be recognised with a certificate and badge.
To complete a Level, you will take part in four key areas: a Physical Activity, such as sport, dance or fitness; a Hobby, such as art, music, cooking or another interest; Volunteering, where you give your time to support others at school or in the wider community; and an Adventure, such as an excursion, bushwalk, bike ride or similar experience.
As you work through the Venture Award, we hope you enjoy trying new things, building on what you already love and gaining confidence along the way. This is your journey, so choose activities that suit your interests, challenge you in positive ways and help you grow.
This program has been adapted from the former Ignite Program, which is no longer offered by Awards WA.
The cost for students to participate in the program is $40 (plus GST and site booking fees).
