Event description
Stand-Up at the Studio returns as Aaron Bell brings a new lineup of comedians to Baltimore Avenue. This show starring: Shanell Renee, Justin Lamar, Kasey Nicholson, Zilla Vodnas, and Eric Preston, will take place on Friday, January 10th at 8:30, doors open at 8:00 PM. Tickets run $5-$15 sliding scale using the ticket link, or pay by cash or QR code, or at the door.

Performer Bios
Shanell Renee is a professional comic with over 8 years of experience. The 2018 Philadelphia Hip Hop Awards Female Comic of the year has made many television appearances, including artist spotlight on the “The Q Show”, “The Micheal Colyar Morning show” Fox network, Comedy Central, and Bounce TV. She’s also toured with the Roots, The “Delirious” Comedy Tour and “Philly Meets New Orleans” comedy series. Shanell Renee has opened up for many Gospel and Grammy award winning artists including Smokie Norful, R&B singers Lyfe Jennings, Musiq SoulChild, Anthony Hamilton , rap sensation Tierra Whack, comedic greats Wanda Sykes , Sommore and Bill Bellamy. Shanell Renee has graced the Legendary Apollo stage and has been featured on Netflix monthly showcase " Netflix is a Joke" Monthly series. She is the creative mind behind the comedy series titled “Clean Chuckles”, a monthly comedy show in Philadelphia, which has been picked up by 4 other states.
Justin Lamar Simmons hails from the outskirts of Philadelphia, bringing a fresh perspective to life, love, and everyday interactions. His style of comedy blurs the lines between stand-up and casual conversation, leaving audiences both entertained and intrigued. Recognized by comedy luminaries like Michael Collier, Rachel Feinstein, and Mark Curry, Justin has graced the stages of legendary venues like the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles. Beyond his own performances, he's actively shaping the Philadelphia comedy scene as a producer of multiple shows. Justin's comedy is more than just laughs; it's food for thought. With his company, Just-n-Joy, he infuses every performance with a positive and engaging energy. His magnetic stage presence, captivating voice, and undeniable charm make him a standout performer.
Kasey Nicholson is a comedian from Harrisburg, PA. She’s worked with Don’t Tell Comedy, performed on USO shows, and snagged 1st place at Funniest on the Waterfront in 2025. She’s a regular at the Harrisburg Comedy Zone and has hosted for many touring comedians.
Eric Preston is a comedian from the Philadelphia suburbs that brings his diverse background and experiences as a father of three to stages up and down the east coast. He’s performed at the Helena Comedy Festival, Punchline Philly, and the Stress Factory. He also use to be the host of the Tuned Up Comedy Show at Tuned Up Brewery in Spring City.
Zilla Vodnas is host of The Comedy Lab on 17LiveUs and n00b york city at BrookLAN. She has been a featured performer at HBO’s Women in Comedy Festival, The Harlem Comedy Festival, Bad Bitch Revolution and New Latin Wave Comedy at La Cosecha. As a Latin woman born and raised in NYC, most of Zilla’s jokes are delivered with that electric “Nuyorican” energy, a big cheesy grin and a whole lotta "yooo!" Zilla can be seen in person at venues across NYC or virtually on her Twitch channel ZillaVision.
Aaron Bell has been a regular in the Philadelphia Comedy scene since 2017 and has performed at over a dozen festivals around the country. Some notable festivals he’s performed at include the Rogue Island Comedy Festival, Blue Whale Comedy Festival, Rip City Comedy Festival, North Carolina Comedy Festival, Milwaukee Comedy Festival, and the Des Comedie Festival. In addition to performing at these festivals, he’s featured at The Church of Satire Comedy Club, performed on Punchline Philly’s All-Pro Showcase, Don’t Tell Philly, and has hosted at Comedy Works Bristol. Known for his dark, observational humor and laid back style, Aaron’s act focuses on his life as an adolescent living in the suburbs, as well as his life as an adult living in Philly.
