Description

In this peer led session, learn more about the subtle forms of ageism and how these stereotypes can link to elder abuse. Learning how to advocate for ourselves and stand up for our rights will help prevent mistreatment before it happens. The aim is to raise awareness of the value of older people and increase confidence so everyone can speak up.

Who are we?

Encompass Legal and Community Services (ELCS) formerly Northern Suburbs Community Legal Centre (NSCLC) is a not for profit legal centre, established in 1996. We aim to provide client centred services that are offered primarily across the northern metropolitan area, with some programs extended further across the State. There are offices in Mirrabooka, Wanneroo, Joondalup and Yanchep, and we partner with other community focused organisations to deliver diverse services in a range of locations.

What do we do?

We provide a unique approach to delivering legal and non-legal support services, as we understand that complex issues require a multidisciplinary team of solicitors, tenant advocates, social workers, financial counsellors, older people advocates, community legal education staff, program support staff and volunteers.

As a nationally accredited organisation, we also provide community legal education, as well as financial education for vulnerable people and peer education for older Western Australians.
