Event description

UNSW Health are pleased to offer subsidised Standard Mental Health First Aid refresher training to UNSW staff who have previously completed the standard course and are eligible for the refresher course.

This course gives participants an opportunity to refresh the knowledge and skills learnt during the 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid Course. You will:

  • Gain an understanding of the latest research in the mental health field
  • Learn the 3 key actions for helping someone feeling suicidal
  • Work through complex mental health first aid interactions
  • Practice mental health first aid skills.
  • Find out about UNSW Support Services

Who can attend:

Current UNSW staff who have completed the Standard MHFA course within the previous 3 years. You can only do the refresher training before your three year training anniversary.

If you more than three years have passed you will need to complete the Standard course for re-accreditation. We strongly recommend that you check with MHFA Australia before registering so don't waste your time doing the refresher and then have to do the full course afterwards.

Accreditation:

Those that completed the accreditation after completing the course last time will be able to renew their accreditation for a further three years.

Cost:

The training is available at a subsidised rate of $20pp which includes a 4th edition manual.

There are two payment options

1. Payment by company credit card (or staff credit card to be refunded)

2. Payment by Internal Journal Transfer. (Fund, Dept ID and Project are required and will be charged at month end).

Please select the correct ticket type when booking based on how you wish to pay.
