Please read carefully before registering your interest.

Who This Course Is For

This training is specifically for people working in the Australian music and creative industries. If you work outside these industries please visit https://www.mhfa.com.au/ to find another course option.

Time Commitment

Mental Health First Aid training requires a significant time investment:

  • Standard course: 12 hours

  • Refresher training: 5 hours

The standard course involves 3 required components.

Component 1: Self-paced eLearning (5-7 hours) Complete 5 online modules before attending the workshops. This must be finished prior to component 2.

Component 2: Online Workshops (Two × 2.5-hour sessions, delivered on one day) Attend live Zoom sessions with a licensed instructor to consolidate knowledge and practice skills through group scenarios. Sessions have a 1-hour break between them.

Component 3: Assessment & Accreditation (15 minutes) Complete a short online quiz after component 2 to receive your 3-year accreditation as a Mental Health First Aider.

Important Course Requirements

Before Booking:

  • Use your personal email and mobile number (not work/shared accounts). This creates your Mental Health First Aid Australia profile. If you lose access to this email later, you'll lose access to your account.

  • Ensure you have a computer or laptop with a working webcam for Zoom sessions.

During the Course:

  • Complete eLearning first: Zoom links are only sent after you finish Component 1.

  • Video must stay on: Training compliance requires your video to remain on throughout all sessions - no moving locations or changing backgrounds.

  • Join from a private, quiet space: You'll participate in discussions, so find a stationary location without distractions.

  • Use stable device setup: If using a mobile device, keep it in landscape orientation on a stable surface. Do not move around during sessions.

Limited Spots Available

Each course has limited capacity. Registering your interest does not guarantee your preferred course date - we'll do our best to accommodate you.

This course normally costs $300+. Support Act provides it fully funded for workers in the Australian music and creative industries. If you can no longer attend, please notify us immediately so we can offer your spot to someone on the waiting list. Support Act is charged for late cancellations.

After You Register

We'll email you to confirm your place. Please check the email account you used to register and respond promptly - this helps us manage the waiting list efficiently.

After booking, you'll receive instructions to access your Mental Health First Aid dashboard and eLearning modules.
