Event description
With a deep and undeniably soulful voice, Karen Lee Andrews is a unique and gifted performer. She made a guest appearance with Mahalia Barnes at the recent November Starfish concerts, and really impressed with her musicality and charismatic presence.
Karen has most recently performed at the Woodford, Womad, Bluesfest, Queenscliff and Broadbeach Festivals and has supported Jimmy Barnes and Gregory Porter.
She will be appearing at Starfish with her Trio comprising:
Adam Ventoura, bass - Midnight Oil, Guy Sebastian, John Stevens
Yanya Boston, drums - Tina Arena, Thelma Plum, Thandi Phoenix
Daniel March, guitar - Tony Rich Project, St Paul Peterson, Van Hunt
Along with a special guest Hamish Stuart who will join the rhythm Section for this concert to make it extra specially funky and good.
Jonathan Zwartz will appear in the first instrumental set with the band for some two bass/two drums music.
Doors 6pm, music from 7pm, tix through Humanitix $50
Starfish Kitchen (Wendy's famous Chicken Curry) will be open from 6pm.
