Melanie Horsnell is a beautifully evocative singer and songwriter who, coming from a musical family, started busking from the age of 7 and writing and performing her own songs at 15. She spent a year or more touring England, Ireland and France where she spent 6 months traveling the countryside from Marseille to Bourgogne to Paris writing songs with French poet Alain Rivet and French pop icon Helena Noguerra.

A Triple J unearthed star, she has had songs placed into US TV series Degrassi and has released 6 albums under her own name. She lives in the artistic and musical community of Candelo NSW and will be joining us for one night only.

"There is a kind of humour in wisdom, seen clearly in I Learned How To Love From Love Songs (written with Catherine Britt) which immediately recreates a downtown coffee bar of skivvies, cigarettes and desert boots in its gentle picking and light singing of opening lines of “I learned how to live from Dylan/And that’s why I’m so shy/I learned how to love from love songs/But love songs only made me cry.” Bernard Zuel

Joining Melanie will be the wonderful cellist Rachel Johnston, a Julliard School graduate and a founding member of 'Two if By Sea' , a duo specialising in Scandinavian and Celtic music, as well as the brilliant Bill Risby on piano and Jonathan Zwartz on double bass and Hamish Stuart, drums.

Doors at 6pm, music from 7pm until 9pm.
