Stargazing with Telescopes at Staigue Fort House V93 FA36

Our night skies are at risk at many levels - orbital overcrowding, space junk, and the most easily reversible of all, light pollution. Dark skies are skies which are not brightened by artificial light pollution at night. Located in the Gold Tier Kerry International Dark Sky Reserve, Staigue Fort House is a bar, B&B and historic house (it had hydroelectric power some 50 years before electricity came to this part of Kerry) - Sheila Galvin, proprietor at Staigue Fort House, supports the endeavours of the Dark Sky Reserve and has hosted very many of our public events. We welcome Keith Cuneen back for a second year to inspire us with his enthusiasm for the night sky and his proficiency in finding deep space objects using a selection of his very many telescopes! This is a casual informal event brought to you at Kerry Dark Sky Tourism in collaboration with Caherdaniel Dark Sky Group and Skellig Coast Dark Sky Festival.
