  • Your order will be reserved but sent to you only after the full payment plan has been completed.
  • A minimum upfront payment is required to secure your order. This includes a surcharge, a non-refundable cancellation fee, and a refundable deposit.
  • You’ll receive a notification before each payment attempt. You must ensure sufficient funds are available.

Please note: this event is run by the Small Business Development Corporation for small business owners in Western Australia only.

If you are thinking about starting a business, but don't know where to begin, this FREE workshop will take you through the essentials.

You'll cover the key step; from initial assessment and looking at your suitability to run a business, to financing your idea, and identifying sales opportunities.

You'll also receive lots of hints and tips on where to find more detailed information and advice on how to start a business.

This topic covers:
  • The essentials of starting your own business

  • Key steps to launching your business:

    • assess your business idea

    • build your business plan

    • choose your business structure

    • legal obligations

    • build your support team

    • figure out your finances

    • market your business

You'll receive a practical workbook, which includes an "Are you ready?" checklist, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.

These sessions are for anyone thinking about starting their own business, or who already has a business but is open to new ideas.

Our foundation workshops are presented by SBDC business advisors and local small business owners. These presenters have been selected for their vast experience and expertise in this subject area.

This workshop is presented by the Small Business Development Corporation, a Western Australian Government agency that helps small business owners to start well, survive and thrive. We offer free resources, business advice and low cost workshops covering what you need to know to boost your chance of business success. Bookings are limited to two tickets each, however you can make more than one booking. If you are booking for more than one person, please provide each person's email address so they receive our emails with important links and downloads.

If you cannot attend, please cancel so your place can be made available to another business owner. You can cancel your booking from the update order button on your order confirmation email. Cancellations and refunds for paid workshops can be made up to 24 hours before the workshop starts.
