Event description

The WA State Budget will be handed down on Thursday, 19 June 2025, and WACOSS will once again be holding a Budget Briefing on what the implications are for the community and sector.

The WACOSS team will be working late into the evening to develop fact sheets and detailed analysis on how the State Budget will impact those on low incomes, those furthest from the levers of power; the people we all represent and advocate for.

WACOSS Policy Development and Research Lead, Chris Twomey, and Manager Social Policy and Projects, Sophie Hantz, will present this analysis on Friday, 20 June, from 1:30 PM via Zoom.

Joining them will be special guests from WA State Treasury, including Ryan Sengara A/Assistant Under Treasurer, Economic and Lisa Bednarczyk Assistant Under Treasurer, Strategic Policy & Evaluation who will provide a summary presentation of the State Budget in areas relevant to the community service sector, after which they will be invited to participate in a conversation with the community services sector on the issues that matter to you.

This is a free event for members but is open to anyone to join.

For non-members who wish to attend, there will be a cost of $40 per person. Become a WACOSS member for as little as $15 per year and get access to critical sector events and news.

Register for the event, and a link to the Zoom presentation will be shared before the event. Please check your junk folder or contact the office on (08) 6381 5300 if you do not receive the link.
