Staying Connected When Emotions Run High – An Intervention Workshop for families, foster families, partners, friends and (non-paid) carers who support someone (aged 12yrs to 100 years) who has changeable and overwhelming emotions; experiences relationship difficulties and/or displays impulsive or destructive behaviour such as aggression, self-harm or may have suicidal behaviours.


These symptoms of distress are commonly experienced by persons with mental health issues and/or, substance dependence, school refusal and/or developmental disorders.

This intervention aims to empowers families/carers with relationship skills, understanding and hope.

Facilitated by Dr Annemaree Bickerton (Child, Adolescent and Family Psychiatrist) and Toni Garretty (Clinical Coordinator Family and Carer Program Illawarra and Shoalhaven Mental Health Service).

8:45 registration 

9:30 start

3:30 pm finish
