Staying Grounded and ‘Bouncing Forward’ | Localisation Sharing Circles
Description
How do you stay grounded, resilient and functional when the future is looking decidedly dysfunctional? We know the future will have significant challenges both in terms of energy and resources but also in community, politics, ethics and dealing with natural disasters. Being able to stay resilient in the face of cascading crisis is crucial if we are to avoid become 'trauma organised' and resorting to blame, anger or isolationism. But can we alter our thinking and proactively build skills around resilience? Can we in effect, 'bounce forward’ so challenge is coped with, but also brings us together rather than driving us apart? Join Transition Australia, Local Futures, the Degrowth Network and NENA (New Economy Network Australia), as we host session 2 of the Sharing Circle.
These online events offer a chance to chat, listen, share, learn, and ultimately deepen strategic relationships in an informal setting. You will hear from a range of people with different projects, all working towards a common vision: sustainable, connected, resilient communities, across our continent and beyond.
This session will focus on the inner and collective capacities we need to keep showing up in times of uncertainty. Rather than simply “bouncing back” to systems that are already failing many people and places, we will explore what it might mean to “bounce forward” into more connected, caring and capable communities. 🌿
Join us to reflect on how localisation projects can support not only practical resilience, but also emotional, relational and community resilience.
About Localisation Sharing Circles
Join Transition Australia, Local Futures, the Degrowth Network and NENA (New Economy Network Australia), on the third Wednesday of the month for a series of sharing circles with like-minded localisers.
These online events offer a chance to chat, listen, share, learn, and ultimately deepen strategic relationships in an informal setting. You will hear from a range of people with different projects, all working towards a common vision: sustainable, connected, resilient communities, across our continent and beyond.
This series is organised as a collaboration between the NENA Localisation Hub, Local Futures, Transition Australia and the Degrowth Network. Together, we are creating a regular online space for people working on localisation, community resilience, transition, degrowth and new economy projects to connect across places, share what they are learning, and strengthen the relationships needed for long-term change. 🌱
Whether you are already involved in a local project, curious about localisation, or simply looking for others who are asking similar questions, these circles are a welcoming place to listen, contribute and connect. Come along to share your experience, learn from others, and be part of a growing network of people working towards more resilient, connected and life-affirming local economies. 🤝
