Steel City Sue & the Smokestacks w/ the Rocky Bottom Girls

Join us for a fabulous evening of bluegrass hillbilly dance tunes close to home. Sourdough pizza by Bellicanta's, drinks available at the venue, flexible tickets, fire - the usual joys. Making this evening what it is:

Steel City Sue and the Smoke Stacks (Newcastle)Steel City Sue & the Smoke Stacks hail from Awabakal and Worimi country and bring their own special brand of 'industrial ragtime folk'. Sue wrote award-winning song Boom Town and is forging a new songbook about the Hunter Valley. Flirting, terrible driving, and climate catastrophes also feature in this driven-yet-touching repertoire. The trio of multi-instrumentalists features Sue and the magnificent musicianship of Tim Merrikin and Naomi Jones (Midnight Chicken) swapping out twin fiddles, banjo, guitar, Cajun accordion, double bass - with beautiful harmonies.
