STEM hour: Supporting developmental diversity through STEM inquiry

How can educators help children discover the joy of STEM exploration? How can we cater to the huge range of differences in early childhood development, such as language, communication, sensory processing, and emotional regulation?

In this STEM Hour, we’ll speak to Blake Stewart — co-founder of paediatric early childhood intervention clinic Necessity Kids — and Jade Organ, a senior member of their Early Intervention Team, about the role of play-based exploration and STEM inquiry. 

Blake and Jade will share their insights into how STEM inquiry can be used to support children’s development as they expand their motor skills, speech, cognitive development, and social and emotional skills. Tune in live or via a recording to investigate the ways in which children’s diverse learning needs and preferences shape their engagement with STEM provocations. Gain insight into how you can increase your capacity as an educator to meet the needs of all children in your service at their developmental level and remove barriers to meaningful participation in activities by adapting your teaching strategies and the learning environment around you.
