Event description

Join us for the Winter STEM in the Community Challenge!

You will have the opportunity to partake in a half day interactive, large-scale workshop designed to help young people come together to explore STEM, creativity and digital literacy to develop the skills and mindset they need to become future innovators.

There will be exciting rotational workshops focusing on Virtual Reality, Drone Technology and Robotics. Students will be invited to identify local community problems and brainstorm innovative STEM solutions to solve them. You will develop a prototype, script and presentation. At the end of each workshop, the students will pitch their ideas to a judging panel.

The workshops will be run on:

  • Monday, 16 August 2021: Ages 8 - 12
  • Tuesday, 17 August 2021: Ages 13 - 17
  • Saturday, 21 August 2021: Ages 18 - 24

The cost of the event tickets has been sponsored by the ACT Government.

Note: In the event of a COVID-19 lockdown, the entire event will be live streamed, and online material made available as before. We will invite students to register their interest online, send them a unique Google Hangout Link, and deliver the program online. Google Hangout is free and incredibly easy to use. We will have a support team ready to help anyone who struggles with online access.
