STEM Starters: Earth Day
Event description
STEM Starters at Columbia University hosts free science workshops for local kids and their families in West Harlem.
At Earth Day, students will learn how the Earth and its lifeforms evolve through games exploring geological processes and natural selection. Students will also learn about wind and solar power as alternative energy sources and explore the recent impacts of humans on the earth.
Content is geared toward a middle-school level science background, but all ages are welcome! Registration is free. Parents/Guardians are required to stay for the event. Please only register for 1 ticket per child, parents/guardians do not need a ticket. Attendees will rotate at their own paces between activity stations and talk with graduate student scientists as they learn.
