STEM Starters at Columbia University hosts free science workshops for local kids and their families in West Harlem.

At Science in Motion, students will become sports scientists for the day, conducting experiments from racing derby cars to launching paper airplanes, experimenting with lung models and exploring roles of AI in sports, all while learning the science behind athletic feats!

Content is geared toward a middle-school level science background, but all ages are welcome! Registration is free. Parents/Guardians are required to stay for the event. Please only register for 1 ticket per child, parents/guardians do not need a ticket. Attendees will rotate at their own paces between activity stations and talk with graduate student scientists as they learn.
