Seminar Topic: Mateys ForEVER: Life, Death and (US) Taxes

This presentation will provide a general overview of US tax and estate planning complexities for advisors of cross-border families in the United States and Australia. The presentation will include specific examples of Australian estate planning techniques that create US taxes and probate obligations for executors, trustees and fiduciaries. We will also introduce common US estate planning strategies for US persons that may result in unfavorable tax consequences in Canada and Australia on redomiciliation.
