Event description

2 Day Pastel Workshop for intermediate to experienced pastelists (beginners with some prior experience welcome)

If you have worked with pastels and are inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the Australian Bush this workshop is for you.   Enjoy the challenge of producing loose, bold and free pastel images, tutored by world renowned artist Stephie Clark.

Learn how to create depth and capture the light as you explore the medium of soft pastels.  Stephie will teach you how to explore Australian flowers in natural or still life settings.  Bring your own flowers in and set up a still life or work from your own or Stephie's photos as you create your Australian Bush flower scenes

Course outline

This workshop will suit students who have had some exposure to the medium of pastels and want to extend their knowledge to the next level.  It is a fun and interactive workshop where Stephie demonstrates her "no rules" based techniques and then provides one on one tuition to participants as they produce their very own Australian Bush scenes.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, you should walk away with a sound understanding of the medium of soft pastels and gain practical insights into the intuitive use of soft pastels to express your own impressions.

Who should enrol?

This course is best suited to intermediate to advanced students but beginners with some experience will be amazed at the benefits they get from this workshop.
