Stepping into Year 9 2026 - Information and Subject Selection Evening

Whether you're currently a Year 8 student at SCAS, or thinking about joining Year 9 at SCAS in 2026, we invite you and your parents to attend our Year 9 2026 Information and Subject Selection Evening. This event will be held on Tuesday, 19 August, starting at 5.30pm in The Iona Sports Stadium at St Columba Anglican School. Join us to find out more about the electives on offer for Year 9.

Stepping into Year 9 at St Columba Anglican School, students start to take greater ownership of their learning. The curriculum for Years 9 and 10 is flexible and includes a wide range of subjects to choose from. The evening will begin with the opportunity for parents and students to speak with our Secondary School staff by visiting our Subject Information stands, helping to make informed decisions about subject selections for 2025. This will be followed by an Information Session.

At SCAS, we have created a broad and extensive pattern of elective offerings with a large range of academic, creative, and practical opportunities.

Our Deep Learning electives are developed to provide opportunities for students to pursue their creativity and curiosity and master the skills of their unique interests and passions.

Built on the principles of student voice, choice and challenge, our elective courses offer a unique learning experience built on the dispositions of the 6Cs. Each course has been developed to engage and inspire students in their existing interests or to forge new ones.
