Event description
The Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture has run a pilot Sterile Codling Moth release program over two seasons in a number of Tasmanian apple orchards.
Together with Fruit Growers Tasmania, we are hosting a hybrid event with an option of attending virtually (zoom webinar link to be provided) or face-to-face at the Fruit Growers Tasmania offices in Hobart.
This is an opportunity to hear from Project lead, Dr Sally Bound and Senior Entomologist with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania, Dr Guy Westmore.
- How are sterile codling moths produced and released?
- Commercial sterile codling moth programs in Canada & New Zealand
- Pilot sterile codling moth program in Tasmania - how well did it work?
- Potential for commercial use of sterile codling moths in Australian Apples & Pears
Join us either virtually or face-to-face to hear about the pilot program in Tasmania and ask questions from our research team.
